Porteous Architecture

This house is located on a dramatic site in Lewis. With a small budget, but big ideas the clients asked us to design a forever home on the rocks overlooking a panoramic seascape. Cloaked in a mixture of corrugated iron and larch, upon approach the house is nestled into the surrounding rocks. This house however, packs a punch as it opens up on the seaward side to give unending views of the sea and Hebridean landscape. Coast House is also topped off by a turf roof.
