Porteous Architecture

As architects we are very engaged with our environment and community. In recent years, the islands have been changing as more community trusts have been taking advantage of land buyouts. In certain part of the islands there is extreme pressure for more affordable housing and community trusts have been trying to address this problem. As we recognise that this type of housing is vital to maintaining the life of our rural island communities, we were happy to undertake a feasibility study for the North Harris Trust looking at the potential for affordable housing in an area of North Harris.
